CDE is very excited about our upcoming spring concerts. This is our chance to show you what we have been able to accomplish with your children over the year. Each of our concerts are developed with great care and consideration, in a effort to give your child the ultimate performing experience. This years concerts include Peter Pan, performed by our Early Childhood and Main Intensive classes, and Encore!, performed by our PreProfessional classes. The following are the performance dates for these concerts:

As we get prepared for the spring concerts, it is time to order costumes. Costume Fees are due by December 15th. Reminders have been sent out, but if there are discrepancies in your statement please let us know as soon as possible. We would like to thank you in advance for your help in getting your child’s costumes ordered early. |

The Center for Dance Education is participating in Palmetto Parent’s 2006 Camp and Education Fair. The fair will be held at Brookland Conference Center on Saturday, January 21, 2006 from 10am to 4pm. Our dancers will be performing a short segment shortly after 12:30pm. Come out and support our dancers and register to win one of our Summer Adventures.

Due to demand, the Lexington Studio has added an additional FairyTale Adventure Camp for ages 3-5 year olds, in July. The camp is scheduled for July 11-14 from 1:00 to 2:30. If there are any other interested students, please call our studios or email us at dance@cdestudios.org. |

| Renovations are now underway for our Lexington Studio, which will be moving downstairs in the Old Mill. Many of our parents have volunteered to help put the new floors down, paint, and move costumes and equipment. It is our goal to have the new studios up and running at the start of our 2005-2006 school year. Our new studio space will include three studios, large, medium, and small, with a dressing room and small lobby area all inclusive. Each studio will include a sprung floor laid with marley and mirrors. We are very excited about this new space, and hope you will join us for a grand opening celebration of this studio. The Center for Dance Education encourages all of our pre-professional dancers to embrace the summer as an opportunity for enrichment. Dance Companies and Schools across the United States offer summer intensives, which allow dancers to challenge their techniques and develop their potential. Regardless of the careers they pursue, these opportunities allow students to create new friendships and gain in experiences that will last a lifetime.
Many of our students will be gaining their summer enrichment right here in Columbia, SC. We congratulate all those students who will be participating in the Carolina Ballets Summer Academy and CDE’s Intensive Workshop. CDE would also like to recognize the following dancers who will be participating in summer intensives outside the area:
Christina Fipps - The Rock School, Jacki Michaelson – Ballet Magnificat!, Dani Riccardi – American Ballet Theatre, Caroline Richardson – American Ballet Theatre, Lauren Shankle – Pacific Northwestern Ballet, Raven Thomas-Smith – The Rock School, and Anna Varn – Boston Ballet.

The summer has only just begun, but our summer camps are in full swing. We have had wonderful attendance thus far in our FairyTale Adventure Camp and our My Mommy and Me classes. If you are planning on attending any of our summer camps, their are still a few spaces available, but early registration is recommended. To learn more about our summer camps click here. |

| Summer will be here and gone before we know it, so we have already finalized our 2005-2006 school calendar. The studio is scheduled to open Monday, August 15, 2005 and classes will conclude Saturday, May 13, 2006. Open house in Lexington is scheduled for July 25th through July 29th. Early Registration for the 2005-2006 school year has been extended. Our Lexington Studio will be holding an Open House and registration August 1, 2005 through August 5, 2005, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 until 7:00 and Friday from 10:00-12:00. Students can also register at the Vista Studio this same week from 10:00 until 5:00. Students can be register at either location, regardless of the studio they will be attending. The Center for Dance Education begins our 2005-2006 school year on August 15, 2005. We are very excited to see everyone in the classroom. Please remember the first couple of weeks back to the studio will be used to ensure all dancers have been placed in the appropriate classes. Again, we hope you are excited about coming back to class and can’t wait to see you. |
